S 2 GOI

The S 2 GOI has been adopted by the Special Forces of the Italian Navy and is the evolution of the SERE 1, which was created by a study group composed of Special Forces officers, martial arts experts and survival technicians. This variant has been redesigned according to the requirements of the Italian Naval Special Forces. The acronym SERE stands for "Survival, Evasion, Resistance and Escape," the four fundamental concepts for the training programs provided to military personnel at high risk of capture. The S 2 GOI is designed for both point work and cutting work. Its unique handle, unlike classic blades of this type, is designed to be held with the blade protruding between the index and middle fingers, forming a straight line from the tip of the blade to the wrist, and also allows using the reverse grip. The handle has the same ergonomics as a gun barrel, which allows for instinctive and direct use. The tip is shaped to maximize penetration, while its deltoid profile gives it strength. One edge is partially serrated – useful for cutting ropes – while the opposite edge features a standard rope cutting design, with interchangeable blades. The central hole in the blade, which has the double function of lightening the blade and acting as a coiner, refers to the maritime roots of its creators. The feature of the knife is that it is specially designed to be used even without the handle? the two holes in the area intended for the handle facilitate assembly. The Kydex sheath has a basic hold that can be used alone for operators who need extremely quick access to the knife, and a removable locking clasp if necessary. The knife comes with a double safety for both right and left side attachment. A flat blade screwdriver accessory is also available.
