T911
On 19 December 1941, at Elouet El Assel, about 400 men of the 1st Carabinieri Parachute Battalion resisted an attack by several Indian battalions: emerging from their trenches and throwing improvised grenades, the "lions of the desert", as Radio London called them, held the line, allowing thousands of German and Italian soldiers to retreat to safety. This was the first action in the history of Italian paratroopers. The Parachute Battalion "Tuscany" asked Extrema Ratio to design the T911 especially to commemorate its 80th anniversary. The T911 is a lightweight, medium-sized folding knife designed for professional use by military operators. It features a Bohler N690 steel blade, heat treated to 58 HRC for a better balance between durability, ease of grinding and retention of the cut. The blade is 76 mm (3”) long and 4 mm (0.16”) thick, with a stone washed finish and flat edge, and rotates around an axis that can be adjusted for tension, allowing the user to achieve the desired smoothness while cutting. opening of the blade. Once set, a secondary screw secures the shaft in place. The handle is made of hardened Anticorodal aluminum, with a black finish, formed for ease of transition between reverse and saber grips. The blade deploys from the folded position with the usual thumb stud button and is secured with a liner lock with an extra safety system for maximum reliability under hard use. The safety switch is red for better visibility and activates the safety in the forward position for more instinctive use. The handle has a built-in belt cutter with readily available industrial-grade blades, a tungsten carbide glass breaker, a collapsible sear and an AISI 420 steel flathead screwdriver, intended for sight adjustment. A clip is attached to the end of the handle, allowing a deep, concealed carry position with minimal part of the knife exposed. The clip can be reversed from the left to the right side. The entire knife can be disassembled for cleaning and maintenance. With an overall length of 194 mm (7.6”) and a weight of 145 gr (5.11 oz), the T911 is easy to carry in both uniform and civilian clothing.
