CAIMANO NERO
The Caimano Nero is a tactical knife delivered to the GOI (Gruppo Operativo Incursori - Group of Operational Incursors) of the Italian Navy and designed by Extrema Ratio, official supplier of COMSUBIN. Its name is a reference to and tribute to the heroic Caimani Neri del Piave (Black Crocodiles of the Piave River), a unit of the Arditi of the Regia Marina (Italian Royal Navy), who swam across the Piave River to raid enemy territory during during the First World War. It is an automatic knife with a 4 mm thick spearpoint blade and an asymmetric design with a partial pseudocut to improve the penetration coefficient. The serrated part of the blade allows cutting cables and high strength fabrics without losing its edge. It is a medium-sized folding knife with a durable construction. It is light and balanced thanks to the numerous material removal processes applied to the thick aluminum grip scales. The handle, reminiscent of the tail/propeller of the Siluro a lenta corsa (SLC), is designed to improve the quick extraction of the knife from the pocket. The DLC-coated titanium clip can be positioned at three different angles on both sides for maximum customization while in use. Its shape is designed to hide the handle protruding from the pocket. The automatic release system of the blade guarantees full opening even in case of accidental hits during the rotation of the opening. Among its features are the tough metal glass breaker and the safety that prevents the dangerous closing of the blade by mistake.
